LiBEST (CEO Kim Joo-Seong) announced on the 10th of this month that it has won the Gold Award at the ‘2023 LETS (Lotte Eco Tech Solutions) GO!” competition co-hosted by Lotte E&C, Lotte Chemical, and Lotte Ventures.

The “2023 LETS (Lotte Eco Tech Solutions) GO!” competition is based on document evaluation, presentation evaluation, and on-site inspection results that emphasize originality, economy, and field applicability in three areas: energy, eco-friendly, and future technologies. The winners of the bronze award and above are given the opportunity to conduct joint research with Lotte E&C and Lotte Chemicals and test their technologies at Lotte E&C sites.

The KAIST spin-off company won the CES2020 Innovation Award for its flexible battery, and later won another CES2023 Innovation Award earlier this year for its Flame-Retardant & Anti-freeze Battery standard model.

The winning technology is a battery model that extends the standard Flame-Retardant & Anti-freeze Battery model to high-nickel and iron phosphate batteries, and the company’s “Flame-Retardant & Anti-freeze Battery technology” extends the temperature range of existing Flame-Retardant & Anti-freeze Batteries while maintaining energy density, enabling superior performance in various operating environments such as cryogenic temperatures.

“We will continue to strive for future safety innovations brought about by the Flame-Retardant & Anti-freeze Battery technology developed by LiBEST,” said Kim Joo-Seong, CEO of LiBEST. “We will work together with Lotte E&C and Lotte Chemical to accelerate ESS innovations that are close to our lives.”

Meanwhile, after being selected as the No. 1 company in the eco-energy sector by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ ‘Super Gap Startup 1000+’ earlier this year, LiBEST is expanding its strategic partnerships with global partners and customers for Flame-Retardant & Anti-freeze Batteries.
