LiBEST (CEO Kim Joo-Seong) announced that it was selected as a representative company of the Urban Convergence Special Zone and attended the ‘1st Local Autonomy and Balanced Development Day Ceremony’ held at the Daejeon Convention Center Grand Ballroom on the 2nd.

The event was held for the first time since the implementation of the ⌈Special Act on Local Self-Governance and Balanced Development’ and the launch of the Local Era Committee in July, and was attended by various key figures, including President Yoon Seok-yul, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Won Hee-ryong, and Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo, to create a livable local era everywhere in Korea.

LiBEST’s CEO Kim Joo-Seong was selected as a representative of the Urban Convergence Special Zone among the four special zones, Opportunity Development Zone, Education Development Zone, Urban Convergence Zone, and Cultural Special Zone, and attended the ceremony together.

LiBEST is a deep-tech startup that specializes in the research, development, and manufacturing of flexible, Flame-Retardant & Anti-Freeze batteries.

“In line with the upcoming localization era, we will continue to focus on research and development, employ local talents, and grow into a regionally focused company,” said Kim Joo-Seong, CEO of LiBEST.

Meanwhile, the company has been actively expanding its business since the opening of its new factory in the Dungok district of the Daejeon International Science and Business Belt in August, and in October, it won a gold medal for its safe Flame-Retardant & Anti-Freeze Battery technology at the “2023 LETS GO!” competition co-organized by Lotte E&C, Lotte Chemical, and Lotte Ventures.
